A poem by Nova

She takes the key
But she still breaks the lock,
 Oh the times changing fast,
 Will it ever stop?
They might be partners, but she’s a loner in her heart
Sitting at a table with coffee and her thoughts
She didn't expect this, why did it ever come,
Such a troubled soul under the vibrant sun,
She's dyes her hair and bites her lips,

She walks steady yet somehow she trips,
And so the bird flies as she sinks in soil,
She’s the victim of the full moon midnight torture
In a full room with shallow talk and laughter is one of the world's greatest disasters,
She feels misunderstood, even remarked by her journal's quietness
As her pen's tip plasters a life story on her sheets,
Yet somehow somewhere she's secretly looking for someone's critique.
Negative or good, she doesn't care; in fact she wishes she wasn't there.
There is no good versus evil in her mind,
Only a conscience that re-examines all her crimes,
As the flaws creep in, and the confidence disappears,
She produces tough skin instead of tears
Her innocence weeps away on the day of each decay
As her angry visions enlighten the bad,
She doesn't even see the world in black or white,
But in fright of day verses night
She wishes she could get more out of life,

but her lack of energy isn't giving up a fight
Her happiness was gone when she started pursuing it.

A POWERFUL long sentence > a long sentence

I’m an emotional creature, a hard worker who enjoys saving her money rather than spending it, a girl that believes in spirituality and being open minded instead of a religion, a girl with curiosity that didn’t kill the cat, a tourist of the New York City insane madness, a weekly card scratcher and Skype camerawoman, an actress that embodies the feminism behind the Vagina Monologues, with a pacifist United Nations kind of touch on humanity, a girl that races to the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea with her friends in the depths of Croatia’s core, a girl with a booming laugh, a vibrant smile, with enough positivity, energy, and enthusiasm to go around and uplift people’s days, a volunteer that volunteers for the good of human kind instead of community service credit, a microorganism for the higher power’s worldly problems, a girl with an overly long resume portraying the things she actually wanted to do instead of ‘needed to do’ for college requirements, a girl that whistles with the birds yet flies away from land dreamingly not physically, a girl that walks home bare feet in the rain, a girl who gets her adrenaline rush from reaching the sky with her rattling swing set, a comedic with sarcastic, witty jokes resembling Kathy Griffin swag with pickup lines that would make Napoleon Dynamite embarrassed from jealousy, a girl who got cavities from her sugar crave, a girl that pulls stickers off of St. Mark’s poles and plasters them on her planner and closet, a fashionista with a sprinkle of fairy dust that chooses thrift store treasures over mass produced clothing companies, a girl that has the emotional intelligence to take part in any conversation and talk to anybody, a humanist that sits with someone sitting alone at lunch, a girl that chooses to be high off of life rather than stupid chemicals, a girl that dances her insecurities away at concerts in the burning summer afternoons, an explorer that hangs a subway map that marks all the places she still has to visit, a girl that chooses to be unique and different over conformity.

The Importance of Fashion...Its more then just "clothes"

Fashion is beautiful. It gives me the excitement I feel from finding a unique item at a thrift store. The eccentricity when it seems as if the dress I bought was personally designed for me. The adrenaline I got from learning to walk in heels, as I transfered from adolescence into womanhood.

Its the satisfaction of going to your first day of school picking an outfit that is the definition of your eye. The happiness you feel when someone remarks how amazing you're looking & the honor you feel when someone asks for fashion advice.
Fashion without hesitation has given me my confidence and expression to be the Nova that I am.

I scattered amongst the colored fabrics in my closet and I pondered some questions that I feel every fashion lover should ask themselves or ponder about.

Do you change your style around from rocker to boho or do you have a constant consistent chic vibe?

Does mode or eye effect fashion?
If you’re tired will you still wear what you were planning too, or will you have a lazy day?
Do you believe in lazy days- just cuddling up to the good ol’ hoodie and jeans day. Or do you believe every day you should be making a statement.
How do you make a first impression? Do you dress to impress or dress how you feel?
No one ever mentions how makeup effects an outfit.
What is your definition of style or a fashionista?
Confidence really affects the way an outfit looks.
Does it bother you how fashion week is a season ahead of time. Do you wish designers focused on the season we’re in?

I Am An Emotional Creature by Nova

An emotional creature is a girl who isn't afraid to speak her mind.
She's loud and proud of her beliefs.
She's the girl that isn't afraid of feeling her feelings.
She's the energy that triggers this world with positivity.
She's the girl that's offering her opinions and responding back to the debates.
She's the girl that breaks stereotypes and cliches.
She's the girl that says no to sexism and male dominance.
She's the girl whose vibrancy attitude brightens any ones day.
She's the girl that's not scared of raising her hand.
She's the girl that's not intimidated by everyone starring.
She's the girl that takes pride in her booming laugh.
She's the girl that does everything full out.
She's the girl with self-confidence in a dull room.
She's the girl that loves the way the fabric grabs onto her curves.
She's the girl that will prove everyone wrong.
She's the girl that's unavoidable because her vitality doesn't let her stop dreaming of a better world.
