Girl's Club @ Bust Magazine Event

The Girl's Club was featured at the Bust Magazine Event! Our pink-tastic-girl-enthusiastic (excuse me as I go write a hit song with these lyrics with my girl band in my grandparents' garage) section displayed products that are all fully fair-trade and handmade by girls themselves! All the proceeds from the sales went directly to the Girl's Programming to raise social, economical, environmental awareness to the generation of girls to come!
Products can be purchased at La Tiendita, the Girl's Club Shop in Essex Market, or the Sweet Bake Shop-either way, all purchases will change the lives of young girls and give them the skills to dream and realize their aspirations.

The Girl's Club Mission in which I strongly believe in!

Talent Unlimited High School attends the Bloomberg Financial Literacy Night

Talent Unlimited was invited to the Bloomberg building on 59th street and Lexington to take part in a financial Literacy Game called Ne$t Egg! High above the city, the top floor had a crystal clear view of the beautiful city I call home, New York City. The game taught me alot about investments, profits, taxes, and about the economical system we have set up in the United States. For participating, the Bloomberg building donated the board games to our school, where students can gain knowledge of being educated with money in the fun of a game.

Scheherazade: Talent Unlimited's Holiday Show

At Talent Unlimited's Holiday Show this past Friday, students came together to experience all the crafts of all five majors: drama, dance, instrumental, musical theater, and vocal. My personal connection to the dance piece Scheherazade was the fact that I was the Teacher's Assistant and created most of the costumes pictured below. Glue guns + jewels + sparkles + love of color = a stage full of shinning bright dancers!
It's the small details that make the BIG picture.

The girl that speaks to the moon.

And so I sit alone in an empty, Rite Aid parking lot speaking to the bright moon that hurts my eyes.
Who am I speaking to...God...A higher power...Myself...to Nature?
Why is it that I have the impulse on a freezing night to numb my body with the air's cold breath, and the peace of me taking the moment in?

Should I question my actions, or should I let them be?
Often in art, or literature, we question what the artist was thinking, and at times we get into a even deeper meaning then the one thought about (or ironically perhaps not thought about) by the author or the artist.

Why do we as humans feel the need to constantly dissect, over think, and overload our mind with daunting rhetorical questions?

Why is it that human nature makes us ask someone a question when we have already answered it in our head as they debate out loud in front of us?
Why is it that everyone's so busy and doesn't have time to meditate and think quietly?
Is everyone ACTUALLY busy, or is everyone 'BEING BUSY' just to distract themselves away from their thoughts, and insecurities?

People don't open up to the difficulties they're experiencing and instead blockade them as if they don't exist. No matter the situation or life experience someone has, they're all common themes-happiness, frustration, low confidence, body image, doubts;etc.
We can ALL relate to each other, but it's sadly religion, culture and society that separates us, instead of unifying us based on our similarities. We are the human race.
My intensity can't be silenced. I will question rather than please.
I love being alive, this awake, this enthusiastic, this passionate, this loud...this extroverted...this aware...this observatory...this curious.
And so I remain talking to the moon, as if the bold white light is guiding my path into the future.

Teen Vogue Partayy!

What can I say...I'm in love with Teen Vogue! You can't picture the excitement and adrenaline I feel each month a new issue arrives in my mailbox. I quickly squeal and rush to the cosiest reading spot and get inspired from the glossy pages under my fingers. Over the summer, it was such an honor to get a tour of Teen Vogue personally from the editors <3 ! (HERE) The office and editors have such a vibrant, opportunistic energy and a 'ready to work' attitude. Fashion is no glitz and glamour for the most part when running a magazine! It's all about running errands, styling for photo shoots, breaking heels from running when returning dresses, re-visions and re-visions, upcoming due dates and hours in the office that produce the satisfaction all fashionistas encounter when the new issue arrives. I respect the editors and interns so HIGHLY and I truly appreciate when the fabulous editors take time our of their busy schedule to share the excitement for Teen Vogue with their readers! Much love for all the glamorous faces below! *Applauds*
