One of my FAVORITE places is MoMA, aka the Museum of Modern Art. I love visiting on free Friday's (thanks Uniqlo!) and perfectly ending my long week of work/school by getting immersed and inspired by the art.
I was waiting in line for the Rain Room, ironically while it was raining outside (!) and Brazilian-based singer Candida who stood in front of me on the line asked if I wanted to share her umbrella. I was appreciative of her kindness and we automatically hit it off when we spoke about art, and our aspirations. We understood each other's artistic aesthetic and decided to collaborate on a photo shoot. My idea was 'the wild and bold woman unleashed in the materialistic Big Apple.' We channeled this concept with face painting provided by my mom Dijana Mesin (check out her body of work
HERE!) and Candida's personal clothes and headed to the busiest places of New York City! It was SO much fun to direct the shoot and we had a blast! Some of the photos will be featured in a Brazilian magazine, which is SUPER exciting!!
Here are some of Candida's personal favorite pics that I shot which she edited:
